As an important measure, Cuiying Honors College of Lanzhou University has always implemented the three-semester system in autumn, spring and summer. Summer school started from July 10 to 31, during which summer courses and lectures were held to encourage students to actively participate in various internships, summer academic camps, scientific research training, social practice, etc. Such summer courses and various activities focusing on personalized development had attracted all students of our college.

With the cooperation of relevant colleges, Cuiying Honors College offered 7 professional courses, an English improvement course and a professional practice course in summer primary school in 2021, and held 18 academic lectures, all of which were open to the whole school. Besides, together with 15 students from Qian Xuesen College of Xi'an Jiaotong University, they carried out quality development and party history learning and education practice activities, and visited Lanzhou Institute of modern physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Yang Qinhui, a student of 2020 physics Cuiying class, said: "During the three weeks of primary school, I learned about the latest scientific research trends in many fields and had a deeper understanding of the prospects of my knowledge"; Zhang Jiahuan, a student of mathematics elite class, said that he had not only learned a lot of professional knowledge, but also improved his English ability. More importantly, although everyone came from different classes, after attending summer primary school, everyone had a sense of belonging and identity to the new collective.

Li Xinyu, a student of 2019 biology Cuiying class who participated in scientific research training, said: "I feel the rigor of the experiment and the challenge of scientific research. While exercising the experimental operation ability, I also improve the ability to find literature and constantly reflect and adjust." Song Yang, a student of biology elite class, believes that the learning of experimental skills is more important and meaningful than pure theoretical knowledge in books. Take a period of time and devote yourself to one thing. You can get something by yourself. No matter how high the score is, you can't give this joy and sense of gain.

Li Shuowen, a student of 2019 physics Cuiying class, believed that by participating in the summer school activities of Peking University, she had understood the frontier of the optical field and broadened her vision. At the same time, she had also met many excellent students in the same major in other schools, learned her shortcomings and advantages in the communication, and more clearly defined her future learning direction, also let herself have greater motivation to develop in the direction of interest. Hu Jinyuan, a 2018 chemistry Cuiying class student who participated in the summer camp of Peking University, said: "the summer camp is full of experts, and the whole process is not smooth. Maybe the significance of youth lies in this. No matter experiencing the scorching sun or continuous rain, we should believe that Qingchun will live up to himself".
