Recently, under the guidance of Professor Dong Zhengping, a team composed of Ren Xuanguang, Ma Kexing, Xue Shengzhi, Huang Xiaodi, Liu Yunfan and other students from the Chemistry Cuiying Class of Lanzhou University used the participating project "Mesoporous Silicon Nanocapsule Load "Precious Metal Catalyst" won the Gold Award of the 7th China International Internet + College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.

Aiming at the shortcomings of the existing precious metal catalysts, the project attempts to design a more economical, green and efficient reduction semi-hydrogenation precious metal catalyst. The team members consulted a large amount of literature, tried multiple research plans, continuously improved the experimental methods, and performed hundreds of performance characterizations, and finally obtained a new type of catalyst with no pollution to the environment, excellent selectivity and efficiency.
