About the Presenter

Weiqing Xie, Ph.D., Professor, Ph.D. Supervisor, received his undergraduate degree from Lanzhou University in 2002 under the supervision of Prof. Baohua Chen, received his Ph.D. degree from Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2007 under the supervision of Prof. Dawei Ma, and then worked as a research assistant at Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry. From August 2009 to August 2011, he was engaged in postdoctoral research in Southwest Medical Center of Dallas, USA, and his tutor was Professor John Falck; After returning to China in 2011, he worked as an associate researcher in Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry; He joined the faculty of Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University of China in September 2015, and his main research interests are total synthesis of natural products and natural product-oriented synthesis methodology. In 2017, he received a grant from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) for Outstanding Youth Program and the Shanxi Provincial "100 Youths Program", and in 2018, he received the Thieme Chemistry Journals Award, in the same year, he was awarded the Western Pharmaceutical Star, and was funded by Shanxi innovative talents recommendation program in 2019. He is currently the author of several publications in the field of natural product synthesis and synthetic methodology.
