Cuiying Honors College Holds Mountain Climbing Competition

Author: Time:2023-09-25

To enhance physical and mental fitness, strengthen collective cohesion, and promote exchanges between teachers and students, Cuiying Honors College organized a mountain climbing competition on September 24. After preliminary mobilization and careful preparation, more than 180 teachers and students from Cuiying Honors College formed 30 climbing teams to participate in this event.

In September, the autumn atmosphere in Lan Mountain became increasingly rich, with lush greenery. Under the guidance of counselor teachers and following a warm-up session at the foot of the mountain, at 9:30 AM, with the referee's command, all participating teams set off from the foot of Wuquan Mountain, competing to reach the final destination, Santai Pavilion, along the designated route.

There were 5 checkpoints along the way, where team members had to check in sequentially to ensure their scores were valid.

The winding paths and the cool autumn weather did not dampen everyone's enthusiasm for climbing. The students supported each other, worked together, and climbed steep peaks, enhancing friendships and improving their willpower and endurance.

The road near the summit, with its jade railings and red pillars, expansive heavens, and uniform steps, serves as the best reward for climbers who have persevered and made it this far. The road continued upwards, but the smiles of the participants indicated that success was within their hands—it was time to enjoy the scenic views from the summit!

After all team members reached the final destination of Santai Pavilion, the staff calculated the average climbing time for each team, resulting in the selection of 1 first-prize team, 2 second-prize teams, and 3 third-prize teams. The members of the winning teams received corresponding prizes, and all participants enjoyed the delicious customized LZU mooncakes.

In the golden autumn with rain falling like a blessing after a drought, the students climbed in September to overlook the city of Lanzhou, enjoying a unique experience. By organizing this climbing activity on the eve of the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day, the college helped students immerse themselves fully in nature amidst their busy schedules, experiencing the joy of outdoor group activities and guiding them towards a well-rounded development in all aspects of education. At the same time, it also fostered communication and integration among students from different grades and majors, bridged the gap between teachers and students, and strengthened collective cohesion. "An individual can go fast, but a group can go far." It is believed that in the united, progressive, and harmonious Cuiying family, students will actively strive for success, grow healthily, and construct a solid foundation for conquering one peak after another in the future.
